Rao was naturally introduced to a poor cultivating family.
As there was no school in his town, he recieved his initial instruction in a town shed from his educator, Valluru Subba Rao.
He was embraced by his fatherly uncle, Nandamuri Ramaiah.
In 1933, his family moved to Vijayawada, where he finished his tutoring from a metropolitan school.
